LD's Guide to Japan

60日後

60 Days Later is a tumblr by two Canadian illustrators who are spending 60 days in Japan.  They take some really wonderful photographs (mainly of Tokyo).  They’re almost halfway through their 60 days now, so hurry and go catch up on their blog!

Since I moved to Kurobe half a year ago, my blog has seen a big shift in terms of content.  While I was living in Los Angeles I was posting mainly about movies and tv, and just a little about myself.  In the past 6 months, however, I’ve posted almost exclusively about Japanese culture, and about my life and my work here.  To reflect this change, I’ve decided to give my blog a big redesign to better represent its new content.  The background photo is one I took this past fall at Kinkakuji (the Temple of the Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto.  Please let me know if you encounter any problems on the new site so I can try to fix them.

I ♥ Tumblr

I crossed another milestone this morning in terms of the number of people who follow me on Tumblr.  The number itself doesn’t matter, but I wanted to say thanks.  I created this mosaic as a small token of my appreciation.  The avatar of everyone who follows me is represented by at least one tile in this image (see the big version).

Special thanks to topherchris for the orginal artwork that the mosaic is based on.

How very nice!  I spotted mine, I think, 8 times, but there could be more (or less if I double-counted).  Cheers, Joe!
