My girlfriend just turned me on to this Japanese web series called “The World of GOLDEN EGGS”, which is basically a whole bunch of nonsense, but I’ve been laughing my ass off watching it. It’s a series of short ad-libbed sketches that 2 guys recorded with a microphone and then made animations to go with it. It is subtitled in English, although I can imagine that having some knowledge of Japanese would make it funnier, but you should give it a try even if you don’t know the language.
IKEA HEIGHTS
An Ikea furniture store melodrama created for Channel101.com. This started as a silly idea Del, Dan Riesser and I joked about wandering through IKEA over a year ago. And now it’s a real thing, thanks to the Rebel T1i and wireless lav mics. Shot one afternoon at the IKEA in Burbank.
CREDITS: Directed by David Seger, shot by Paul Bartunek, written by David Seger, Spencer Strauss, Paul Bartunek, and Tom Kauffman. Produced and edited by David Seger and Paul Bartunek, co-produced by Delbert Shoopman and Tom Kauffman. Starring: Randall Park, Whitney Avalon, Tom Kauffman, Jess Lane, Dean Pelton, Wade Randolph, Abed Gheith and Delbert Shoopman. Special Thanks to IKEA for not noticing us shooting a whole show in their big cool store.
Reblogging so I remember to watch this after work today. Dave Seger is brilliantly funny, so I’m sure this will not disappoint.
EDIT: as expected, that was really, really great.
