LD's Guide to Japan

“Oh! Oh! I’ve been there!” of the day:  This is a permanent installation at the 21st Century Art Museum in Kanazawa (a city about 90 minutes by train from where I live).  The building itself is very, very cool, and this sits in a courtyard right in the middle.  You can access the “inside” of the pool from the basement floor.

Here’s another great time-lapse video tour of Japan.  I found this one to be incredibly soothing to watch.  (via anatomyofamuse)

Lights Out: “Get up and go” — Stefan Werc’s multi-perspective Tokyo time-lapse, aptly set to the tune of Broadcast 2000’s “Get Up and Go.”

Words cannot express how much I love and adore this video.  It is absolutely STUNNING!  And the train sequence really brought back memories—I used to have to commute on that very train (the Yurikamome Line) for work.

I have seen this painting in person.  It’s awesome.  Because it totally is a pipe.  (via kl7)

One of the other teachers at my school drew my portrait!  Pretty damn good.

Picasso drawing with light. More here [life.com].

Portrait of myself drawn and painted by Michel Gondry!!  So exciting.
