I would definitely consider myself a romantic type of guy, and my friends can back me up on that, and I love this movie as a whole, but this part always made me so angry.  Sure, it’s an incredibly romantic gesture, but what kind of an enormous asshole would do this to his best friend?  I’m supposed to look at this guy like some kind of hero?  What a low-life dick.  Am I the only one that feels this way?

I love this movie. But I do think you might be alone in thinking this guy is an asshole, because (by filmmaker’s intention, I suspect) I find her husband pretty unlikeable. I mean, honestly, who tells carol singers to go away on Christmas? Keira should dump Chiewetl for Andrew Lincoln, hands down. Also, just worth mentioning, finding this in my dashboard when I’m already a bit emotionally wrought made me tear up at work. Not that I blame the (re)poster(s), because I knew what I was getting into when I played the clip, but still. Sigh.

Sigh, indeed.  I guess it’s just me, then.  Maybe I just don’t remember it well enough, but I don’t really recall Chiwetel’s character being portrayed negatively.  I felt like the telling the carolers to go away was more of a playful way of saying “get back here, i want to spend as much time as i can sitting next to you on Christmas” because, hey, they’re newlyweds.  Oh well.  Anyways, I hope your tears bring you the comfort, at least, of knowing that you’re still emotionally alive.  It’s better than the alternative.  Take care.
