Anonymous asked: youve probably had this question asked many times, butt how did you start life in japan? and when?

Not that many times, actually.  I moved here pretty recently—July of last year—because I got job teaching English through the JET Programme.  It’s a fantastic job and I’m really lucky to have it.  I can’t recommend it enough.  It’s really tough job to get, too, despite the fact that they have more than 4,000 teachers in Japan every year—so I guess that speaks to the quality of the program.  In fact, I was waitlisted for JET and I didn’t expect to be coming, but they called me in June and said “You’re in and you’re moving to Japan in one month.”  Then I had one of the most hectic and stressful months of my life.

But it’s all good now.
