Lawrence plays piano

My name is Lawrence, and I play piano. I also write songs and they're o.k., and I love TV and movies. I'm originally from St. Louis, but I now live in Los Angeles, and I'm hoping soon to move (back) to Japan. If you send me an email, I usually write back.

  1. Gig this Thursday!

Hey everybody!  This is somewhat short notice, but I’ll be playing a show this Thursday night in St. Louis as part of an International Music Mini-Fest.

The event is taking place at the Red Sea Restaurant/Bar in the Delmar Loop (6511 Delmar Blvd.) at both their Underground and street-level stages.  It starts at 7:30 PM and features the band Voice of Glass, from Germany, on the Underground stage along with Jungle Funk.  I’ll be playing on the street-level stage with Yuki Kawana, from Japan, and it will be hosted by Joe Bohac.

I’ve introduced Yuki Kawana before on this site, and I’m so excited that she’s getting this chance to play her very first show in the US, and that I can be there to support her!  So I hope all of you will join me in welcoming her.

Further details:  though the event does start at 7:30, Yuki and I have been given the time slot of 10:30 to midnight.  Yuki has asked to play for a half an hour, so my set will be slightly longer than my last gig at the Creepy Crawl.

Also, tickets are $8 at the door, but only $6 if you buy from me in advance, so if you would like to come, be sure to send me an email so you can save two bucks.  Even if I can’t actually meet you in advance to sell you a ticket, I have a hold sheet to guarantee that you can get in for only $6 at the door.  But you have to let me know in advance, so it’s important that you email me to let me know.

I’d also be happy to answer any other questions by email or by comment on this entry, and for a google map of where the Red Sea is, follow this link:

Thanks and I hope to see you on Thursday!! (be sure to say “hello” to me if you stop by and I don’t know who you are)
